It’s a complicated arrangement that made it possible for Spider-man to finally enter the MARVEL Cinematic Universe with an appearance in this year’s Captain America: Civil War – one that paved the way for next year’s Spider-Man: Homecoming. The interesting thing is that this next “solo” outing (which we’ve learned is partially a team-up with Iron Man) is a SONY picture created in partnership with MARVEL Studios (Disney) – and with actor Tom Holland in the suit, we’re into the third big-screen Spider-Man of this century. I often wonder if casual moviegoers understand all the “hows” and “whys” of all of this superhero-switching, but as the first trailer for Spider-Man: Homecoming has shown us tonight, this may be the most comic-accurate version we’ve ever seen, and one that looks to really bring Spidey into the universe that he so rightfully should be a part of. Check this out…
Spider-Man: Homecoming is in theaters on July 7, 2017.
Now, can we finally get FOX on-board to give audiences what they really want, and get the X-Men, Deadpool and the Fantastic Four welcomed into the proper MCU?
