Given how big a Global cultural phenomenon it’s become, it’s almost hard to imagine that it was just one year ago today – November 27, 2013 – that Walt Disney Animation Studios’ FROZEN first hit theaters. A year out, and FROZEN has officially toppled Barbie to be the biggest doll line (with MONSTER HIGH close behind), has inspired countless YouTube videos, parodies and tributes – and has managed to sell over three million Elsa dresses (at least one to me). Out of all the films I could’ve done a press trip for, I was fortunate to be included in the group of writers to visit Walt Disney Animation Studios to help promote the first home video release of FROZEN earlier this year, and now seems like a perfect time to do a recap – this being the first anniversary of the forever-classic – along with five of the best ROCK cover versions of “Let It Go,” the iconic song that has made Idina Menzel a household name. Ready to “Let It Go” again?
