Chicago friends: If you’re looking for a rootin’ tootin’, yet rockin’ good time with your little ones this weekend, it might be a prime time to pay a visit to Miss Jamie from the Farm. The Chicago-based performer will be doing three shows in and around the city to celebrate the release of her debut album, MISS JAMIE’S FARM (available now on Amazon, iTunes, and CD Baby).
Combining her Texas upbringing with live performance skills that she’s honed as an actor and voice-over artist, Miss Jamie’s acoustic show (which I’ve taken my own girls – “The Rock Daughters” – to see) features appearances by her puppet friends like Sweet Jen the Hen, The Great And Powerful Chickie of the Farm, Willie the Out of Work Horse, Prissy the Pig, Benny the Lamb, Courtney the Cow, and Freddie the Fox, and occasionally, Jamie’s little live-action farmhand (her daughter), Taylor Gibson Martin. Together, they take kids on a musical tour around “the farm” as they learn about healthy eating habits and choices, in an interactive event that’s perfect for kids preschool to age 7.
