Following a first-look at some character art along with some casting announcements from Lionsgate’s forthcoming PLAYMOBIL: The Movie. back in October, things had been a bit quiet on that front. Today that silence has been broken with the release of the first teaser trailer for the upcoming film, which finds some human kids living out a fantasy that many of us have had… to be pulled into the world of their favorite toys! Directed by Lino DiSalvo and produced by ON Animation Studios, PLAYMOBIL: The Movie features the voice talents of Anya Taylor-Joy (The New Mutants), Gabriel Bateman (the upcoming Child’s Play remake), Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter), comic Jim Gaffigan (Chappaquiddick) and singers Meghan Trainor and Adam Lambert. Get your first look at the action below!

PLAYMOBIL: The Movie – Synopsis

The film will follow the adventures of siblings Charlie (Bateman) and Marla (Taylor-Joy). When the former unexpectedly disappears into the animated universe of PLAYMOBIL, Marla must go on a quest to bring him home. During her adventures she teams up with some unlikely new friends, including smooth-talking food truck driver Del (Gaffigan), dashing and charismatic secret agent Rex Dasher (Radcliffe), a wholehearted misfit robot and an extravagant fairy-godmother (Trainor). Lambert will voice the character of villain Emperor Maximus.

Look for PLAYMOBIL: The Movie to hit theaters in the U.S. on August 16, 2019.

Bonus Fact: I consider PLAYMOBIL to be one of the top toy lines of all-time.
