AMERICAN GIRL‘s 2013 Girl of the Year was released this past January to much fanfare as SAIGE COPELAND was presented alongside a movement to support Arts Programs in schools (something that The Rock Father can 100% get behind) with 13 Grants awarded through the Elevate the Arts Contest. Now, Saige is coming to life as a live-action movie, AN AMERICAN GIRL: SAIGE PAINTS THE SKY (pre-order from Walmart). The folks at AMERICAN GIRL sent over the full details on the new movie, along with some new photos, all of which can be seen below…

About the Film:
AN AMERICAN GIRL: SAIGE PAINTS THE SKY introduces nine-year-old Saige (played by newcomer Sidney Fullmer), a talented artist with a passion for horses, in this modern-day story about finding one’s voice. Saige is excited about the new school year until she discovers that art—her favorite class—has been cut. On top of that, her best friend, Tessa, is spending more and more time with another girl. For support, Saige turns to her grandma Mimi (Jane Seymour), a well-known artist and horsewoman, who inspires her to take action.
Can Saige find the courage to lead the fund-raising effort to start an after-school art program and save her friendship with Tessa? Heartwarming, empowering, and fun, it’s a movie for every girl who has ever dreamed big.
AN AMERICAN GIRL: SAIGE PAINTS THE SKY will be released July 2, 2013, on Blu-ray Combo Pack, DVD, and Digital Download. It will also air Saturday, July 13, at 8/7C on NBC. Beginning June 28, visitors to AMERICAN GIRL stores will be among the first to see the Saige movie, enjoy Saige-related crafts and activities, and take home exclusive giveaways.
