TMNTIt’s been long time coming, but this weekend, fan-favorites Bebop and Rocksteady finally make their debut on Nickelodeon’s TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES. Voiced by J.B. Smoove and Fred Tatasciore, the duo arrives in “The Pig and the Rhino,” in which “Donnie finishes a new batch of retro-mutagen, in hopes of saving Karai, while the Turtles find themselves hunted by Shredder’s new vengeful henchmen.” In perfect timing with their on-screen return, THE ROCK DAUGHTERS (Adalyn and Finley) and myself recently got our hands on the newly-released Bebop and Rocksteady action figures from Playmates Toys, and now comes time to share a look. Originally released as a Walmart Exclusive (which I detailed here), the figures are now making their way to retailers everywhere and would make a fine addition to any TMNT collection.

Rock Father TV: Video Highlights with Finn, Addie and James

Now, while I was huge into the comics and live-action movies as a kid, TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES were one toy line that I missed out on the first time around, so I’m living vicariously through my daughters (and the whole neighborhood) on this one. Bebop and Rocksteady are pretty solid – formidable foes for the Turtles, or anyone else for that matter. Rocksteady comes with a nicely-done hammer and sickle, while Bebop has a couple of small “bombs” that fall into the “will be lost” category, so they went straight into my special holder for such accessories (which we have an abundance of here).

Bebop also has an interesting “sliding” feature, aided by a small wheel on his back. My money says most kids won’t have any clue what it’s for, but we figured it out after a bit. Overall, these guys are just cool to have, and they’re already a part of regular play here at Rock Father HQ. What that means is that they’re “part of the crew” now. Sometimes they’re interacting with the TMNT gang… while other days may find them hanging out with Daniel Tiger, Sofia the First, Yoda, Bitty Baby or Playmobil Santa Claus. You get the idea.

Curious what this dastardly duo will look like on-screen this time around? Check out the clip from “The Pig and the Rhino” that the folks from Nickelodeon sent over…
