Based on the famed series of books, Disney Junior’s Fancy Nancy follows the adventures of a girl who brings the fancy to everything from her advanced vocabulary to her creative, elaborate attire, and so much more. The stories, geared towards kids ages 2-5, have an underlying theme of self-expression, originality, and love of family, and today there’s some big news! Not only have Alyson Hannigan and Rob Riggle signed-on to voice Nancy’s parents, Claire and Doug Clancy alongside Mia Sinclair Jenness in the title role, now JAKKS Pacific shares a preview of their new line of toys, set to debut at the 115th North American International Toy Fair in New York this weekend.
JAKKS will be showcasing its line of Fancy Nancy playsets, dolls, figurines, musical instruments, plush, role play and accessories. Following the tradition of other hot Disney offerings from JAKKS Pacific, the Shall We Be Fancy? Talking Fancy Nancy Doll will be available Fall 2018. Kids will be able to interact with Nancy, listen to her speak and sing songs from the television series simply by pressing either her butterfly necklace charm or the charm located on the accompanied wearable bracelet for the child. Dressed in her signature fashion, Nancy stands 18-inches tall, features lights, sounds, and has over nine points of articulation.
For what it’s worth, my youngest daughter (5) just looked at this and asked “is that a new Ariel doll?,” which is fair given the red hair and signature JAKKS styling. Since the series won’t be seen until later this year, kids will have plenty of time to become acquainted with Nancy’s new look, which differs greatly from the books.
