The Pretty Reckless Light Up the Holidays with ‘Where Are You Christmas’ 🎄🎸

Published:

Taylor Momsen is coming home for Christmas and bringing a wall of sound.

The Pretty Reckless have dropped a brand-new version of “Where Are You Christmas,” the song Momsen first sang as Cindy Lou Who in How the Grinch Stole Christmas at just seven years old.

This time, the track isn’t tucked under the tree; it’s roaring through the speakers. The new rendition appears on Taylor Momsen’s Pretty Reckless Christmas, a holiday EP that will be released digitally on October 31 and physically on November 14 via Fearless Records.

“Revisiting ‘Where Are You Christmas’ 25 years later feels like coming home to a part of myself I hadn’t seen in a long time,” Momsen says. “I was just a child when I first sang it, and I never could’ve imagined the way the song and the film would stay with people for so long and unknowingly shape my career path as an adult. Recording it now, with all the life I’ve lived in between, I hear it through a different lens… but the heart of it is the same. It’s about wonder, hope, and holding on to the magic — something I think we all need more than ever.”

It’s a full-circle moment for Momsen, taking a sentimental piece of holiday history and giving it an edge only she could deliver. With powerhouse vocals and the trademark grit that’s made The Pretty Reckless one of modern rock’s most commanding bands, the song bridges her Hollywood beginnings and her hard-rock present.

“Where Are You Christmas” turns nostalgia into noise, transforming a childhood memory into something defiantly, beautifully rock ‘n’ roll.
