When we first discovered RUUM American Kid’s Wear, it was by complete accident while paying a visit to Gurnee Mills back in July. Since then, it’s fast-become one of our favorite stores – a place to find rockin’ (and dressy) clothing for all occasions, the racks filled with an ever-changing assortment of styles for girls and boys, newborn to size 14. Having already paid a visit to RUUM during Back-to-School Season, I was pretty excited when the opportunity to check out their Holiday styles came up. Armed with a Gift Card courtesy of RUUM HQ, the little ones and I dropped in to pick-up some new outfits for all the Holiday gatherings that are looming in the weeks ahead. Of course, my girls had to run around the RUUM like they own the place. And… at 17-months and four, there isn’t really any convincing them that they don’t. So we just roll with it.
To Addie and Finley, we were just as much stopping by to see some friends as we were checking out some Holiday Fashions. In fact, it was a bit harder to wrangle them than usual, but we accomplished the mission, aided by our “new friend” (as Addie said) Fawn, and “old friend” Kate. Starting with Addie, a variety of mix-and-match pieces from the “dressy” assortments were presented for consideration. I got her to try on a few different outfits, but we ultimately landed on a Gold Skirt, Pink Cardigan, Beige Shirt combo, accented by a Gold Headband and Shoes.
Little Finley is getting to the age where she can really take part in these shopping excursions, and that’s fun for me since this is only her second Holiday Dress, and the first one that she’ll actually be running around in. Having stopped by RUUM earlier this month with my wife, I knew that she’d already been partial to a certain Dress for Finn, and that’s just what I bought… sparkly, yet subtle…
One thing that’s really noticeable and unique with the selection at RUUM is that their “Holiday” clothes veers more toward a “winter” vibe that eschews the heavy red and green that most would typically go for.
