After a short run of Season Two episodes this past summer, THE AQUABATS! SUPER SHOW! will return to The Hub for the Holiday Season, with the first of three specials, CHRISTMAS WITH THE AQUABATS, set to debut on December 21. News just hit Rock Father HQ this afternoon, and I’ve got details on all three new Aquabats specials below. Fingers crossed that they bust out their awesome cover of Lindsey Buckingham’s “Holiday Road” that I like so much.

“Christmas with The Aquabats!” – Saturday, December 21 at 1 p.m. ET/ 10 a.m. PT

Ricky’s perfect Christmas is threatened when the Aquabats arrive in a strange village and are convicted of breaking a law that forbids any Yuletide celebration. Their only chance at saving themselves and Christmas is for the big man himself, Santa, to lend a mitten! The special includes guest stars Matt Walsh (“Veep”) as Santa and Robert Smigel (“TV Funhouse,” “Triumph the Insult Comic Dog”) as the voice of The Krampus.

Christmas with The Aquabats

“Shark Fighter!” – Saturday, December 28 at 1 p.m. ET/ 10 a.m. PT

The Aquabats come face-to-face with mutant land sharks and when the legendary Shark Fighter (Rhys Darby, “Flight of the Concords”) arises to take on the Bats, he ends up being the big brother Crash has always wanted.

“Kitty Litter!” – January 19 (2014) at 2 p.m. ET/ 11 a.m. PT

The Aquabats encounter a new villain who blames them for his villainous condition and devises a plot for revenge that uses the cuteness of kittens to battle his enemies.

AquabatsS1Cover72dpiPsst! THE AQUABATS! SUPER SHOW! Season One! is available now on DVD from Shout! Factory.

From show creators Christian Jacobs (“Yo Gabba Gabba!”) and Jason deVilliers (“The Flyboys”), “The Aquabats! Super Show!” is the first show in kids’ television history to feature a real-life rock band in totally unreal comedy-action-musical adventures. Members of The Aquabats include The M.C. Bat Commander (Christian Jacobs), Crash McLarson (Chad Larson), Ricky Fitness (Richard Falomir), Eaglebones Falconhawk (Ian Fowles) and Jimmy the Robot (James Briggs). The series received a 2013 Daytime Emmy® Award nomination for Outstanding Children’s Series. Christian Jacobs, Jason deVilliers, Donna Ebbs and Nate Rogers serve as executive producers of the series, which is from Awesome Forces! Productions.
