It came as a shock to everyone last week when LESS THAN JAKE turned off their cloaking device to reveal a brand-new EP, completed and released to the unsuspecting masses. Like a postcard from thin air, GREETINGS FROM… is said to be the Gainesville ska-punkers 287th release, and hardly sounds like something from a band with a full 286 records before it.
With five songs clocking in at just 14 minutes, I could easily dish out an Star-per-song and say this is a perfect EP, if it weren’t for the fact that the opening track Can’t Yell Any Louder sounds more like GOLDFINGER than LTJ – but that’s not a knock. Like it’s four brothers, the track does rock.
The Bottom Line: LESS THAN JAKE has presented you with a sonic gift laden with delicious ska-punk goodness. You’d be foolish not to accept it.
