The artwork of Ralph McQuarrie is legendary – the visuals that helped shape the look of the STAR WARS universe, and continue to do so today. Audiences need look no further than Disney XD’s STAR WARS REBELS, or the forthcoming release of J.J. Abrams’ STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS to see McQuarrie’s design cues being used on a regular basis. Back in 2007, Hasbro released a series of 30th Anniversary Collection McQuarrie Signature Series figures, one of which was the Concept Stormtrooper featured as today’s entry into the Force Friday Countdown Calendar. Ralph McQuarrie was born on this day back in 1929. He became one with The Force in 2012.
