I was just discussing Toys “R” Us with my wife last night. As many of you regular readers know, I mention TRU pretty frequently here on The Rock Father (like when we started our Christmas shopping in October). Not only is it our favorite store (we visit the local Toys “R” Us/Babies “R” Us combo on a weekly basis – particularly since we have a newborn in the house), but I receive their press releases and corporate news via email here at Rock Father HQ, with updates arriving several times a week. If something interesting is happening at TRU, I usually share the news…

But, in the year-and-a-half since this site went online, I have not once been able to get a response from a single human being in the media/press department at Toys “R” Us. It’s truly bizarre. In fact, I sent a courtesy email to them last week after posting some news, and once again… crickets (and I copied three contacts just to see if someone would respond). Despite the odd radio silence from inside Geoffrey’s house, here I am sharing more TRU news, because I know that a lot of you will dig it.— Toys “R” Us has announced their 2012 BLACK FRIDAY extravaganza, with over 200 “Doorbusters.”

tru bf adToys “R” Us stores will open at 8pm on Thanksgiving night as Black Friday moves into Turkey Day with many families starting their Holiday shopping a little bit earlier. The first 200 shoppers at each store will receive a “Great Big Goody Bag” filled with $30 worth of stocking stuffers from Crayola, Disney Jr., LEGO, and more. The much-anticipated, 32-page Thanksgiving Weekend ad will arrive in newspapers on the morning of November 22, filled with over 300 deals and over $12,000 in potential savings. Shoppers that can’t wait until the 22 to see the full ad can visit http://www.facebook.com/Toysrus on November 19 for a sneak-preview. Want an even earlier sneak-sneak peek?
