When it comes to new releases, there’s definitely an increase when you hit the beginning of March – as that two month post-Christmas lull is broken and the new titles really start flowing. It’s like a switch has been flipped, and this first Tuesday of March 2014 is no exception. While there’s no really BIG family title hitting the streets this week, there’s some really cool reissues like AN AMERICAN TAIL and HARRY AND THE HENDERSONS. PBS KIDS fans will find new releases from familiar characters like SID THE SCIENCE KID and THE CAT IN THE HAT KNOWS A LOT ABOUT THAT!, while Nickelodeon has a new DORA THE EXPLORER title, and some classic MR. PEABODY AND SHERMAN arrive. Check out some highlights for what’s new this week below, right here on THE ROCK FATHER:

THOMAS AND FRIENDS: SPILLS & THRILLS (HIT Entertainment)
FUN FACT: The Rock Father is still banned from commenting on Thomas’ Facebook page. 100% true.
The Island of Sodor is always bustling with activity, yet when the engines try to be “Really Useful” they often find themselves in some messy muddles! James tries to prove he’s not afraid of the dark, or too vain to haul smelly fish, but when he pulls the nighttime Kipper Express he gets more than he bargained for! Stephen’s need for speed and Salty’s need to impress sends them both into some sticky, slippery situations. Hiro shows Diesel that nice engines do finish first and Sir Topham Hatt shows you can’t cry over spilled milk… twice! It’s full steam ahead for “Spills & Thrills” on Sodor.
