YELAWOLF has built a career on refusing to stay in one lane. His next album takes that approach even further.
The multiplatinum artist will release 45 on July 27, led by the new single “Simple,” a stripped-down, reflective track that trades bravado for honesty. Built around atmospheric production and YELAWOLF’s most direct songwriting to date, the song offers an early glimpse at an album rooted in personal reflection and hard-earned perspective.
“‘Simple’ came from somewhere inside me, something that needed to be said that I didn’t even know I needed to say… or maybe something I needed to let go of. The old me,” YELAWOLF says.
Known for blending hip-hop, rock, country, and Southern influences throughout his career, YELAWOLF shifts the spotlight to a different side of his artistry on 45. The album features him singing across every track, drawing inspiration from American songwriting traditions while leaning into the storytelling that has long fueled his work.
“Overall, 45 is a confessional album,” he says. “I think the vulnerability and honesty is what’s going to connect with listeners the most.”
The project continues an evolution that became more apparent with Sometimes Y, his 2022 collaboration with SHOOTER JENNINGS. Echoes of that record run throughout 45, where open-road melodies, roots-driven arrangements, and personal narratives take center stage.
