I covered NEW YEARS DAY extensively in my last gig a couple years back. In fact, my friend Rob LOVES NYD (check out his tag for frontwoman Ash Costello for all his coverage), and I've heard so much about them that it almost seems that I'm required to give them a little virtual ink here in the "For Grownups" section of The Rock Father. That said, Century Media will release VICTIM TO VILLAIN, the new record from NEW YEARS DAY on June 11. Check out the cover art, tracklisting, and some thoughts from Ash below...

Phoenix, Arizona’s THE MAINE have declared June 4, 2013 as the release date for their fourth studio album, FOREVER HALLOWEEN. The new record will be released independently in the US in partnership with their management team Eighty One Twenty Three, and released via Rude Records in Europe, UK, Southeast Asia, Australia and Japan. Brendan Benson of THE RACONTEURS handled production of the self-funded release.

Is it Halloween in April? Weird to follow-up a post about toys based on THE MUNSTERS with this...

I've known about these for a bit, but now that photos for all of them have surfaced online, it's time to discuss a forthcoming wave of the Hot Wheels "Pop Culture" cars... UNIVERSAL HORROR.

HALESTORM might not exactly be a band you'd associate with Halloween, but that's not stopping them from celebrating "Hale-a-ween" with The Warner Sound. The rockers sat down for a six-song set today in The Live Room, and the entire thing can be viewed below, along with an intro from the band. Check it out!

There has never been, nor will there ever be, another Halloween special as timeless as the 1966 classic, IT'S THE GREAT PUMPKIN, CHARLIE BROWN. That said, it's only fitting that I include the Peanuts gang in 31 Days of Halloween on the big day itself. If you don't already have it on DVD or Blu-Ray (or maybe, even if you do), ABC will be running THE GREAT PUMPKIN tonight at 8pm ET.

31 Days of Halloween: Scooby-Doo

As our three-year-old continues to grow and explore, it's interesting to see what elements of pop culture she's starting to identify with. One recent interest is perfect for the spooky season, and comes in at Day 30 of this year's 31 Days of Halloween. I'm talking about a mystery-solving Great Dane known as SCOOBY-DOO.
