I always like to include some GHOSTBUSTERS action in my annual 31 Days of Halloween, but while we await any real news of GHOSTBUSTERS III, we’re sort of in an off-year. You see, it’s next year that’s the biggie… when GHOSTBUSTERS celebrates 30 Years of Spectral Removal and Storage. In the meantime, we could flashback to 2012 when I featured both HOOBASTANK and MELO-M rocking uniquely different versions of Ray Parker Jr’s Huey Lewis and the News-inspired theme song, or I could just drop-in a link to MISTAH F.A.B.’s GHOSTBUSTERS-sampling “Ghost Ride It” video… but we won’t (even though I just did). Instead, let’s take a quick look at a few new 30th Anniversary GHOSTBUSTERS Minimates that are coming next spring from Diamond Select Toys. It’s Day 20 already…

The GHOSTBUSTERS “I Love This Town” Box Set

This new collection brings together all four ‘Busters – Dr. Ray Stanz (Dan Aykroyd), Dr. Egon Spengler (Harold Ramis), Dr. Peter Venkman (Bill Murray), and Winston Zeddemore (Ernie Hudson) as 2-inch minifigures inspired by the final scene of the 1984 film. Some of their proton packs and gear are even covered in marshmallow goo after victoriously fighting off the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man. Available for pre-order via my affiliate, Entertainment Earth. Speaking of which there’s…

The Stay Puft Marshmallow Man 24-inch Bank

A double-sized version of their previously-released Stay Puft Bank, this new giant ends up being pretty-much proportional to the 2-inch Minimates, which makes for a fantastic display piece. I have the 15″ (more evil-looking) Marshmallow Man that NECA released nearly a decade ago, and I’m pretty sure that this Diamond Select offering is even bigger that the Matty Collector version that Mattel put out a couple of years back. It’s also up for pre-order right now and makes a fine companion to…

DC21024lgaaaThe Ghostbusters Light-Up Firehouse Statue

At 7-inches in height, it’s not quite proportional, but it’ll work. Kind makes me want to take the DeLorean back to ’87 or so and pick up some of THE REAL GHOSTBUSTERS figures (never had ’em) along with that sweet firehouse playset. This cool collectible is also up for pre-order now.

29 Years of GHOSTBUSTERS so far? Yep, you’re old.
