I tend to be really into organization, which is sometimes surprising given the regular condition of things such as… my garage, for example. Back when I was really into things like building a library of movies and music in physical form, everything needed to be perfect at all times, broken into category, and properly alphabetized. While that’s not really a thing for me anymore, I still get hit by the organizational bug, and with the holidays here certain things need to be done… especially the ones that have been getting let go because of my on-the-go lifestyle as The Rock Father – chasing two little girls all day. Brother sent me their new P-touch PT-H100 label maker, and I’ve started getting down to business. First up: The Pantry.
There are holiday meals to be made, cookies to be baked, and undoubtedly, some unfamiliar hands that might be going in there. Unfortunately, the pantry is one of the most out-of-hand spots for a family that’s often in-and-out, quickly stashing groceries and doing the grab-and-go.
Check out that picture on the left. It’s ugly – an absolute mess. What’s the thematic flow of each shelf? While I might know, someone else might not. Containers on the top – what’s in those? All the little stuff floating around… possible confusion.
Overall, it just wasn’t a good situation, but with some overall rearranging and some labeling from the Brother P-touch, we’re all good now. Downright classy…
It’s incredible just how much a difference can be made just by simply having the labels in-place. Since doing this up last week, it’s actually stayed like this. But I’m not done yet. The girls’ craft cabinet is in major need of an overhaul (again), and I’m going to properly label that garage as we go with all of the X-mas decor as we sort through it this season, both pre-holiday and after it all get’s put away. Stay tuned to The Rock Father as I share with you the results of my labeling adventure… and in the meantime, it’s entirely possible that I just may label my office in a manner that rivals Adam West’s 1966 BATMAN Batcave. Actually, I’ve already started.
It’s the 25th Anniversary of the Brother P-touch, and in addition to their official site, you can snag special 25th Anniversary deals at office superstores and other retailers Nationwide.
Now get labeling!
