I think I have a straight-up man crush on Jason Statham. My wife can probably confirm it, but I’ve been known to see a movie just because Turkish, the original TRANSPORTER, Chev Chelios, is in it – and even if the film is crap, Statham always delivers. 2015’s finest Statham film thus far is no doubt Paul Feig’s SPY, and while Melissa McCarthy got the top billing, let’s be totally clear that it’s Statham and Peter Serafinowicz (SHAUN OF THE DEAD, voice of Darth Maul) that steal the show. My wife and I made this a “date night” during its theatrical run, and I firmly regard it as one of the year’s best films overall.
