When it comes to ADVENTURES IN BABYSITTING, I hold the 1987 original in high regard… a film set in Chicago that despite being filmed largely in Toronto, captured the city much in the way I viewed it myself as a child – a big, dirty, dangerous place. That view of Chicago disappeared under the regime of Mayor Richard M. Daley, who really cleaned things up, but since the City has been reverting to those less-than-savory ways under Mayor Rahm Emanuel, it’s probably appropriate that the long-gestating ADVENTURES IN BABYSITTING remake has happened, and as far as I know, the action takes place somewhere else. Premiering June 24th (and on DVD 6/28), this summer’s Disney Channel Original Movie stars SABRINA CARPENTER (GIRL MEETS WORLD) and SOFIA CARSON (DESCENDANTS) as competing babysitters in a new spin on the classic tale. “Adventures in Babysitting,” inspired by the hugely popular 1980s film of the same name, is an upcoming Disney Channel Original Movie starring Sabrina Carpenter and Sofia Carson . In “Adventures in Babysitting,” a dull evening for two competing babysitters, Jenny (Sabrina Carpenter) and Lola (Sofia Carson), turns into an adventure in the big city as they hunt for one of the kids who somehow snuck away. The upcoming movie premieres on Friday, June 24 (8:00pm ET/PT) on Disney Channel.
