We’re reached that weird point of the year here at Rock Father HQ where the Back-to-School season is about to hit full swing, but it feels like summer never really got to hit its stride. For us it’s probably because we had The Rock Daughters™ in summer programs all the way through June (no break between the end of school and the start of those), but even if we hadn’t – is summer really ever long enough? For many, August will bring that long-awaited road trip, or perhaps another type of sunny vacation to give the too-short season a send-off. Speaking of a “sunny vacation,” that’s just what Peppa Pig is taking with her family in her latest DVD release, appropriately-titled, PEPPA PIG: SUNNY VACATION! Out August 2 through 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment, the new collection features the 4-part “Sunny Vacation” special, plus 8 additional fun-packed Peppisodes. After thinking of the true renaissance that Peppa Pig is currently enjoying and what big fans the girls are (we have the toys from Jazwares, the Softee-Dough from Cra-Z-Art, t-shirts for each girl and the “Muddy Puddles” song is sung often), perhaps we should give Peppa and her family a “sunny vacation” (or a sunny “holiday,” as they’d say in Peppa’s UK homeland) right here? And, it would give me a fine excuse for a little #Toyography and a chance to give all of you at home a chance to win PEPPA PIG: SUNNY VACATION on DVD!
Mummy Pig and Daddy Pig loaded up the Red Car and set out with Peppa and George in search of adventure. Knowing how much they love the beach and muddy puddles (plus, Grandpa Pig is a boat captain), the family headed toward the sea.
Though they’d forgotten their water wings, everyone took turns going for a paddle under the watchful eye of Grandpa Pig (from atop a dune) and Daddy Pig.
Back on the beach, Peppa and George eventually found both Daddy Pig and Grandpa Pig taking a nap, and they just couldn’t resist burying them in the sand!
