My first hands-on look at these toys took place over the summer when I attended the Sweet Suite portion of Blogger Bash in New York City – and while I was pretty-much hooked at that point, seeing Torch again at The Toy Insider’s HoliDAY of Play really locked it in as a featured pick for this year. Now, having Torch (and Bootsie) here at Rock Father HQ, I’ve seen the joy that they’ve brought to The Rock Daughters (and their friends), fast-becoming some of this Fall’s most-recommended toys.
Torch features more than 50+ lights/sounds combinations, responding to touch. Filled with water via a special “crystal,” Torch uses LED light to achieve a flame-like took to the mist that it “breathes” – pulling-off a very lifelike special effect, accented by lifelike movement, blinking eyes, and adorable sounds. Place the special color-change treat (a marshmallow on a stick) in front of Torch, and watch it “roast.”
Likewise, Bootsie acts much like a real cat (sans litter box, which is appreciated), purring and cuddling, bowing down and getting angry if you mess with her mouth too much. You can also feed her a “sushi” treat.
