Republic Records and Verve Records announced today that Wicked: For Good – The Soundtrack will be released Nov. 21, the same day Universal Pictures’ film hits theaters worldwide.
“I’m especially happy that the soundtrack album for Wicked: For Good has so much new music on it,” says Stephen Schwartz, the Grammy- and Oscar-winning composer and lyricist. “In addition to two brand new songs, there is a lot that’s new in several other existing songs. So not only listeners coming to the score for the first time, but long-time fans of the original Broadway cast album, will have a great deal to discover.”
The soundtrack includes two original songs featured in the film: “No Place Like Home,” performed by three-time Academy Award nominee and Grammy winner Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba, and “The Girl in the Bubble,” performed by Academy Award nominee and Grammy winner Ariana Grande as Glinda. Also included is “The Wicked Witch of the East,” previously absent from Broadway recordings.
Wicked: For Good – The Soundtrack will be available on CD, double vinyl, picture disc, and digitally, with exclusive versions at Target, Amazon, Walmart, and Barnes & Noble.
