Boston punk stalwarts Dropkick Murphys and tourmates Haywire have announced a new 12-inch vinyl split LP titled New England Forever, out in time for Dropkick Murphys’ upcoming For The People…In The Pit St. Patrick’s Day tour. The two bands, who forged a connection while touring Europe together last fall, each record three original songs and cover one of the other band’s tracks for the eight-song release. Haywire tackles Dropkick Murphys’ “The Boys Are Back,” while Dropkick Murphys put their stamp on Haywire’s “Always By My Side.”
New England Forever will be sold exclusively at shows during the February 9–March 17 tour, which is promoted by Live Nation and features support from The Aggrolites and Haywire on most dates. The U.S. trek culminates with a string of hometown Boston dates March 13, 14, 15, and 17 during St. Patrick’s Day week, a run that draws fans from around the globe.
The side A track list for Dropkick Murphys includes “Citizen I.C.E. (feat. Haywire),” “Only The Strong,” “Solidarity” and “Always By My Side,” while Haywire’s side B features “New England Forever (feat. Dropkick Murphys),” “Hang Up The Telephone,” “The Henchmen” and “The Boys Are Back.”
