I was just browsing the toy department of my local Meijer store the other night when I came across Hasbro’s new collection of BLACK PANTHER toys in the wild for the first time. As with most of their Marvel-based collections, this one has the usual action figures and vehicles paired with an assortment of cool role play items. What’s interesting this time around is that the “Black Panther Vibranium Hero Gear” just received its own commercial, and aside from a few Star Wars items, we usually don’t see too many proper commercials for the role play gear. Marvel Studios’ BLACK PANTHER follows T’Challa who, after the death of his father, the King of Wakanda, returns home to the isolated, technologically advanced African nation to succeed to the throne and take his rightful place as king. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Daniel Kaluuya, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, with Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker, and Andy Serkis, the film is directed by Ryan Coogler and produced by Kevin Feige with Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Nate Moore, Jeffrey Chernov and Stan Lee serving as executive producers. Ryan Coogler & Joe Robert Cole wrote the screenplay. Marvel Studios’ “Black Panther” hits U.S. theaters on February 16, 2018
