While Geoffrey the Giraffe is making a comeback with a new Toys “R” Us store at the American Dream in New Jersey, one retired toy store mascot that won’t be lacing up his rollerskates anytime soon is Peter Panda.

This week, WBZ CBS Boston takes a look back at Child World / Children’s Palace, a legendary toy store that was, at one time, the No. 2 toy retailer in the U.S.

The network called upon the Toy Insider Senior Editor James Zahn aka The Rock Father for some insight into the history and downfall of Child World and what the current and future state of toy stores in the U.S. looks like.
