After decades of calling William Patrick Corgan “Billy” Corgan, it feels weird to type the man’s full name. At the same time, I get it – much in the same way that I’m “James” and get weirded out when people call me “Jimmy” or “Jim,” especially people I don’t really know. Naming conventions aside, today we’ve got something unexpected from Corgan in the form of an acoustic performance of Miley Cyrus“Wrecking Ball” from the Cover Room on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon. As far as I know, this is only the second Cover Room performance, with Kesha dropping by for “House of the Rising Sun” over the summer – a performance that’s pretty much been erased from the internet, with the video being pulled from YouTube.
