This morning, my friends over at ABC made their official cast announcement for the 22nd Season of DANCING WITH THE STARS, ushering in a new round of fan excitement… and opening a fresh batch of weirdness for me. You see, as much as I love ABC (and do some cool stuff with them from time-to-time), when it comes to certain social aspects of “Dancing,” there’s been some confusion that dates back to the MySpace heyday of 2005, and continues now on Twitter… because I own the handle @DWTS. Indeed, if you tweet @DWTS, there’s a solid chance that The Rock Father will be answering, as ‘DWTS’ is also the acronym for DEATH WALKS THE STREETS, the transmedia property that I created originally as a screenplay back in 2004, and continue rolling with, making plans to eventually launch further comic adventures somewhere down the line (you can get two issues of the DWTS Comic Books FREE from Noisetrade). So you want to find out who’s dancing when DANCING WITH THE STARS returns live MONDAY, MARCH 21 (8:00-10:01 p.m. EDT)?

As announced this morning on ABC’s “Good Morning America,” the celebrities with their professional partners heading to the ballroom this season (in alphabetical order) are:

  • Mischa Barton with Artem Chigvintsev
  • Antonio Brown with Sharna Burgess
  • Nyle DiMarco with Peta Murgatroyd
  • Kim Fields with Sasha Farber
  • Doug Flutie with Karina Smirnoff
  • Marla Maples with Tony Dovolani
  • Von Miller with Witney Carson
  • Wanya Morris with Lindsay Arnold
  • Geraldo Rivera with Edyta Sliwinska
  • Jodie Sweetin with Keo Motsepe
  • Paige VanZant with Mark Ballas
  • Ginger Zee with Valentin Chmerkovskiy

I’ll throw my support behind FULLER HOUSE star Jodie Sweetin, just because she’s the only member of the cast that I’ve met so far.

You can follow DANCING WITH THE STARS on Twitter @DancingABC. No Vampires, Demons, Zombies, Werewolves or Mobsters over there.
