The headline to this post is completely misleading. Yes, the much-touted remake of the EVIL DEAD has hit theaters, but no – there is no kids’ version on the way. But characters from the third installment of the original trilogy (ARMY OF DARKNESS) are getting a pretty cute makeover when they become a part of Funko Toys‘ ever-growing line of Pop! Vinyl Figures later this year. Bruce Campbell will be there as ASH, and you might find a DEADITE or two. But they won’t be alone come September…
The latest previews of the Pop! Vinyl collection reveals cute versions of frightful characters from a variety of movies like SCREAM, the SAW Trilogy, Rob Zombie’s HOUSE OF 1000 CORPSES, TRICK ‘R TREAT, CHILD’S PLAY, and Stephen King’s IT. There’s been a ton of Halloween-y news this week (MUNSTERS Toys, Universal Horror Hot Wheels) and maybe it’s because there’s only six months left ’till Halloween… and these new Funko figures will be hitting stores just in time.

Funko’s Pop! Vinyl has some ridiculously awesome licenses coming up in the months ahead. BACK TO THE FUTURE, 1966 BATMAN, DISNEY, TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES, JAY AND SILENT BOB, ANCHORMAN, KILL BILL, … they’re all getting the Pop! treatment, and they can all be pre-ordered over at Entertainment Earth.
