Next month, when 343 Industries releases HALO: SPARTAN ASSAULT, their first mobile title for Windows Phone 8 (yes, I am a Windows Phone user) and Windows 8, gamers will be treated to a score by MTV VMA nominee, TOM SALTA. Already familiar with the world of HALO due to his previous work creating synthesis, drums, and percussion for HALO: COMBAT EVOLVED ANNIVERSARY, Salta has also contributed scores to Tom Clancy’s GHOST RECON, PRINCE OF PERSIA, and more.

“HALO is what inspired me more than any other to pursue scoring games. This has been a long-time dream of mine that has finally come true and I was not going to settle for anything that didn’t feel exactly right; I wanted to ensure that the music truly felt like a HALO game. I am grateful to Music/Audio Director Paul Lipson, Microsoft and 343 for giving me the opportunity to score HALO: SPARTAN ASSAULT.” Tom Salta

HALO-SA-160x220Set between the events of “Halo 3” and “Halo 4,” “Halo: Spartan Assault” is a new chapter of the award-winning “Halo” universe that explores the first missions of the Spartan Ops program and dives deeper into the backstory of Human-Covenant wars. Play through the eyes of either Commander Sarah Palmer or Spartan Davis stationed aboard the UNSC Infinity as they fight never-before-seen battles against Covenant forces.
