The Hess Toy Truck is a tradition that I’ve written about many times over the years, and after last year saw the return of the summer Mini Collection (pictured top), news has arrived that the lineup for 2018 will be even bigger! Hess Corporation has announced plans to commemorate the 85th anniversary of the company’s founding with three separate toy releases this year, each available exclusively at www.hesstoytruck.com. Of course the annual holiday Hess is always the big one, but this year there’s something really special. Take a look…
From the Official Announcement: “On June 1 the Mini Collection will return, featuring a new set of three previously unreleased miniature toy truck replicas. On October 1, a special release Collector’s Edition Toy Truck will be offered in the most limited quantity ever available for any Hess Toy Truck. On November 1, the highly anticipated 2018 holiday Hess Toy Truck will go on sale. In keeping with the annual tradition, the toy designs will not be revealed until they go on sale, but fans can follow “hints” on the Toy Truck Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.”
Living in the Midwest, our family largely missed out on the original tradition of picking up the trucks in-store (we did once on a road trip), but in the years since we’ve amassed quite a little collection, and it’s our youngest daughter that really loves receiving these every year. Personally, I have a ton of fun photographing them (pictured above with our Ready Setz Urban Playset), and many photos can be seen right here in the archives of THE ROCK FATHER™ Magazine. Stay tuned for more!
