Holy Action Figure Awesome, Batman! After previously-covering the offerings from NECA and the world of BARBIE based on the classic 1966 BATMAN television series (which until recently was unavailable for licensing), now comes what is undoubtedly the most-anticipated ’66-based line of the bunch: The BATMAN CLASSICS 1966 TV Series Action Figures from MATTEL. The folks at Entertainment Earth just hit The Rock Father with full details on the first waves of these 6-inch pieces of cool, all of which are now up for pre-order. Check out the details below and pay close attention to detail…

MTBBJ45lgBatman Classics 1966 TV Moments 2-Pack:
Apparently, the only way to get the 1966 Robin figure is to purchase this 2-pack, which features the Caped Crusader (Adam West) and the Boy Wonder (Burt Ward) in their famous “wall-scaling” poses. ’66 Batman NEEDS his sidekick, so this looks to be a must-have for those planning to have a complete collection.

What do you think of these? Something for “the adult collector,” or toys to be shared with your kids?

Lomogram 2013-03-20 09-30-0I grew up on the 1966 Batman series through re-runs on WFLD Channel 32 here in Chicago during the early 1980s. I recently shared the feature-length ’66 Batman movie with my oldest daughter for the first time after seeing a replica of the George Barris Batmobile at The Volo Auto Museum. Now I’m letting her play with my Hot Wheels Elite Batmobile… and it’s become pretty popular (pictured left). Speaking of which, MATTEL will be releasing a Batmobile to go along with this series of Action Figures. The Catwoman has already been announced (would be cool to do Julie Newmar, Lee Meriwether, and Eartha Kitt variants), but I’m hoping for the Yvonne Craig Batgirl, and maybe a John Astin version of The Riddler…
