LADY GAGA is coming to MONSTER HIGH. Confirming rumors that had been swirling for a bit, Mattel’s Monster High and the Born This Way Foundation have revealed Zomby Gaga, a doll inspired by Lady Gaga to champion kindness, instill bravery, and build a world where young people celebrate their differences.    Led by six-time Grammy and 2016 Golden Globe winner Lady Gaga and her mother Cynthia Germanotta, Born This Way Foundation was founded in 2012 to support the wellness of young people and empower them to create a kinder and braver world. Zomby Gaga, the newest ghoul to be welcomed to Monster High, will be available for pre-order starting October 17 at 9am Eastern Time.

From the Official Announcement: With a shared vision for a positive and bright future for young people, Born This Way Foundation and Monster High joined forces last October to inspire empowerment and acceptance. Zomby Gaga is the latest project of the partnership and newest Monster High character to be welcomed to the school. The doll launch coincides with a donation to Born This Way Foundation to continue to further this joint mission.

“Monster High was developed with a break frame aesthetic and storyline around inclusivity and kindness,” said Lori Pantel, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Mattel Girls Brands. “Our partnership with the Born This Way Foundation and the development of Zomby Gaga help reintroduce the brand’s purpose to a new generation of fans.”

The doll was designed by Lady Gaga’s sister Natali Germanotta and inspired by one of her iconic looks created by Zombie Boy in her “Born This Way” music video. “My sister and I came up with the creative concept for Monster High by looking back at some of her best and most inspiring characters,” said Natali Germanotta. “This Zomby Gaga doll is brave, strong and BORN THIS WAY – which shows through in everything from her clothes, her bio and her music video. It has been incredible to work with Mattel and their amazing team and we cannot wait to share our collaboration!”

Zomby Gaga is Coming

This is the latest collaboration for Born This Way Foundation, an organization that has worked with dozens of local and national allies – from GLSEN and YMCA to the National Council of Behavioral Health, Mentoring USA, and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln – to reach hundreds of thousands of young people directly. These relationships have enabled the organization to connect youth around the country with services and programing in their communities.

Launched in 2010, Mattel’s popular Monster High brand is a $1 billion property and remains the No. 2 fashion doll brand. At Monster High, students are not only accepted for who they are – but celebrated for their unique differences. This partnership continues to allow Monster High to take a more active stance in creating positive social change and underscores the importance of kindness and bravery, a message that resonates with both boys and girls.
