Earlier tonight, Nintendo presented a live-streamed presentation (see it here) direct from Tokyo with all of the official specs for their new system, the Nintendo Switch. The most pressing questions were on release date and price, and those have been answered. The Switch will be made available on March 3, 2017 (pre-order bundles available via Gamestop) for an MSRP of $299.99 for the starter unit. The combination at-home/portable system comes with two Joy-Con controllers, and plenty of extra accessories will be available come launch time. While we knew that portability and multiplayer (up to eight systems connected at a time) would be a big part of Switch, we now also know that nearly 80 games are in-development. In the player below you’ll get your first look at some of the game titles, including Super Mario Odyssey, Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Splatoon 2, ARMS, Fire Emblem Warriors, Super Bomberman R, and more…
Pre-orders begin tomorrow (Amazon already has a page up). Those looking to get their hands on the system early can get a taste at the Nintendo Switch Preview Tour, hitting select cities between now and the end of February. Check out the official site for more details, and look for news on some third-party games coming up shortly!
