We’re getting extremely close to the theatrical debut of ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS Story, the very first of the standalone STAR WARS films, blasting into theaters on December 16. From director Gareth Edwards, this new tale tells the story of a group of unlikely heroes that band together on a mission to steal the plans to the Death Star, the Empire’s ultimate weapon of destruction. This key event in the Star Wars timeline brings together ordinary people who choose to do extraordinary things, and in doing so, become part of something greater than themselves. As it’s been for the past four decades, a key component to bringing that cinematic fun to life at home has been with STAR WARS action figures, vehicles and playsets – something I enjoyed back in the Kenner era, and something that our daughters enjoy with a wide array of toys from Hasbro. With that in mind, Disney/Lucasfilm, along with many of their product partners have been inviting fans to #GoRogue, telling their own stories. The STAR WARS #GoRogue Fan Contest:
The #GoRogue fan contest picks up where the four-part stop-motion animated series (watch it above!) finishes off by inviting fans to create and share their own short stories or skits set in a galaxy far, far away… Winning entries from around the globe will be selected by a panel led by Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” director Gareth Edwards, where winners will be invited to Lucasfilm in San Francisco to attend an advance screening of “Rogue One” and see their short story on the big screen. Through October 21, 2016, kids in the U.S. & Canada ages 8-12 can enter their own “My Rogue Story” videos at Disney.com/MyRogueStory, or Starwars.com/GoRogue.
