Back in 2003, KISS made a special appearance on the Halloween episode of WHAT’S NEW, SCOOBY DOO? to help the Mystery, Inc. gang thwart a haunting. Now, more than a decade later, there’s an all-new movie on the way, with SCOOBY-DOO AND KISS: ROCK AND ROLL MYSTERY arriving on Digital HD (July 10) and DVD & Blu-ray (July 21) via Warner Bros. Home Entertainment. Earlier today the first trailer made its debut over at USA Today, and there’s plenty to dig, but it’s also a little odd that they’re actually using SIMPLE PLAN’s 2002-era theme song. Check it out…
KISS will serve-up six classic songs for the film, along with one newly-recorded song just for SCOOBY-DOO. Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Tommy Thayer and Eric Singer are voicing themselves, while other guest stars include Kevin Smith, Jason Mewes, Darius Rucker and more.
In the film, the Mystery Inc. kids head to KISS WORLD to check out a concert, but end up teaming with The Demon, The Star Child, The Spaceman and The Catman to face-off against “The Crimson Witch,” who plans to summon “The Destroyer” from an alternate land called “Kissteria.”
You can be sure that The Rock Daughters and I will be watching this one.
Stay tuned…
