It’s no secret that I’m a fan of Toyota’s SCION division, having been an early-adopter who custom-ordered an original Scion xB back in 2004 (I’m driving it today, actually). Now, ten years into the game, Scion continues their support of all-things-metal with the announcement of a special “Scion x Slayer Mobile Amp tC” for thrash titans SLAYER, which will debut along side the “Scion x Riley Hawk Skate Tour xB” at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas, November 4-7, 2014.
With a build led by Mike Vu of MV DESIGNZ, the Slater tC sports coupe will take on the band’s “aggressive style” on the exterior, while the interior has been “transformed into a multimedia machine with amps, towers of speakers, a custom mixer and a 32-inch monitor for media playback.”
As for Pro Skater Riley Hawk’s ride, Scion states that “Hawk is a rock ‘n’ roll aficionado with an appreciation for 70s style.” His xB will feature a “high-end sound system, space for skateboards and classic orange and yellow striped paint job, alongside details like bubble windows, interior wood grain paneling, an 8-track player and requisite shag carpet. Scott Kanemura of KMA Productions is heading the build.
Personally, I can’t wait to see both of these.
