SESAME PLACE to host a SPROUT WEEKEND this June…

Published:

This article is more than 13 years old and may not have been updated since our last site redesign. It may contain outdated information or could be missing images.

I’ve always wanted to go to SESAME PLACE, a quest that likely began in the early 1980’s when the OAK RIDGE BOYS released a music video that was filmed in the now-defunct location in Irving, Texas. On June 2-3, 2012 – The SESAME PLACE in Langhorne, PA will be hosting a ”Sprout Weekend with Chica and Super Why,” and if my second daughter wasn’t due less than two weeks from those dates, we might’ve seriously considered the trek. My daughter absolutley loves Chica from Sprout’s SUNNY SIDE UP SHOW, and SESAME STREET and SUPER WHY are both on the daily viewing schedule here at Rock Father HQ.

While there’s not a ton of details just yet, SESAME PLACE has launched an event page on their official site, and is promising a breakfast with the characters, meet & greets, and more, with full details said to be forthcoming. Keep an eye on this page for more details as they’re revealed.

As for that old music video:
It was for the Oak Ridge Boys’ song “Thank God For Kids.” For the record, I don’t believe in god, but it’s still a song that brings back a lot of memories, so here’s that video in case you’ve never seen it, or you’d just like to see it again.
