While Fall might be is undoubtedly the best season of the year, it also brings with it some safety concerns for the kids as we move toward Halloween. With that, my friends at Step2 have teamed up with The Rock Father and some other great parenting blogs to get one lucky reader and their family hooked up with the wagon of their choice (really, what better way to trick-or-treat than in a wagon?) and a Safety Sam KidAlert! V.W.S. We certainly want all of the little ghouls and goblins to be safe as they walk the streets in search of tricks and treats, and this combo-pack could certainly assist.
According to Safe Kids, Halloween is the most dangerous day of the year for children under 14 to walk. Unfortunately, children are four times more likely to be killed while walking on Halloween than any other night of the year. Step2’s Safety Sam is trying his best to keep neighborhoods and children safe, but we need to continue to spread the word about children pedestrian safety. Safety Sam is on-duty here at Rock Father HQ on a regular basis, in hopes of both educating neighborhood children about outdoor play safety, and notifying drivers that there are children walking and playing in and around the area. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention has some additional Halloween safety tips available here.
