One of my favorite vehicles from the 2014 Chicago Auto Show was a full-size TONKA Ford F-150, which someone near me bought, because I see it all the time. While it’s Funrise Toys that currently produces child-size versions of the legendary TONKA line (under license from Hasbro), Ford has continued to get creative with the brand for real-world applications, and the latest is the Mighty Ford F-750 TONKA, “the ultimate TONKA truck,” built on the all-new 2016 Ford F-650/F-750 from Ford’s commercial truck lineup.
Powered by the Ford 6.7-liter Power Stroke® V8 diesel engine, the vehicle features a working dump body from Truck Tech Engineers and 33,000-pound gross vehicle weight rating.
Kathy’s right. One of my first vehicles was a steel TONKA Truck, which I played with as part of a whole fleet as a child nearly 40 years ago, and now I share that love with my girls.
Ford’s new F-650/F-750 will be built this summer in Ohio.
Speaking of “big trucks,” remember when COAL CHAMBER did a song called “Big Truck?” It’s a jam.
