Over the past year, my girls (The Rock Daughters™) have come to love the music of Dan Auerbach, making that discovery through an unexpected place – the soundtrack for Disney•Pixar’s Cars 3. This year The Black Keys frontman is supporting his new solo album, Waiting On A Song and one recent stop was at NPR for a new Tiny Desk Concert. NPR’s Bob Boilen called the performance “an explosion of talent” and Auerbach played alongside the Easy Eye Sound, his studio’s house band, made up of “an abundance of gifted musicians who have all played with a long, long list of legends, including Elvis, Don Williams and John Prine.” Auerbach was also joined for a song by labelmate Robert Finley.
