It seems that I can’t escape HANSON this week. Just yesterday, I was at O’Hare airport in Chicago, catching an early morning American Airlines flight to Los Angeles. On that flight were three familiar brothers and their band – fresh from a pair of shows at Chicago’s House of Blues. In fact, I noted on Twitter that we’d even taken what was essentially the same picture – something you just have to do at O’Hare during the holidays, a Chicago tradition that recalls Home Alone. Today the first press release to hit my inbox was from HANSON’s camp, spreading the word of their new music video and upcoming appearances. “Finally It’s Christmas” is the title track from the group’s second holiday album, one that’s featured on my 2017 Ultimate Guide to New Release Holiday Music. See it below!
Hanson recently appeared on the star-studded Disney Parks/ABC holiday special The Wonderful World of Disney: Magical Holiday Celebration, and this Thursday, December 7, will find them on Jimmy Kimmel Live! to be followed by a performance on The Late Late Show with James Corden on December 11. On December 14, they will appear on The Dr. Phil Show.
Finally It’s Christmas reunites the band with co-producer and writing partner Mark Hudson (Aerosmith, Ozzy Osborne, Ringo Starr) who also collaborated on the band’s beloved Christmas release Snowed In. Adding to the production pedigree of the release are engineer and mixer CJ Eiriksson (Jacks Mannequin, U2, Phish, Matchbox 20), with the title and select tracks mixed by veteran chart-topper Tom Lord-Alge (U2, Rolling Stones, Billy Joel, The Wallflowers).
