Rock Father vs. Rock Father – It’s been seventeen weeks since James Zahn and Tom George (read the kick-off story here) began a year-long journey to not only lose weight, but get fit. These two Work-at-Home Dads had let time and their jobs take their toll on their personal well-being. For each week of the journey, we’ve been checking-in to find out how their efforts are paying off. This past Sunday April 27, 2014, both men did their weigh-in, and these are the results…

Starting Weight: 328 | Last Week: 311 | Current Weight: 308
About Week 17, James states: “A great week. Hitting the gym has some results already, and it’s been worth it. It’s long been an issue here were I have no ‘me time’ – in that, between the daily stuff with the kids, then nights doing my job, there’s just no time for James. While there’s still no recreational time (or very little of it), I’ve made that ‘me time’ so I can get away for an hour at the gym as I can. Not having time is how I got into a weight gain situation to begin with, so I’m making it. One thing that slowed me a bit is a bout with the infamous ‘Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease’ – but that’s a post for another day. Don’t ever catch it.”

About Week 17, Tom states: “Last weekend was my wife’s birthday. We had a big family get together, and WAY too much food. We are now 4 months into the year. I started strong, but I am treading water the last couple of months. My goal this week is to start eating better, and slowly work my way back into exercising daily again.”
So far, we’re tracking a 21 pound loss by James, and a 21.2 pound loss by Tom.
