THE ROCK FATHERRock Father vs. Rock Father – For the past 26 days, James Zahn and Tom George (read the kick-off story here) have been engaged in the early stage of a year-long journey to not only lose weight, but get fit. These two Work-at-Home Dads had let time and their jobs take their toll on their personal well-being. Now, nearly four weeks into their journey, we’ll find out how their efforts are paying off. This afternoon, Sunday, January 26, 2014, both men did their weigh-in… and these are the results.

Starting Weight: 328.4 | Last Week: 315.0 | Current Weight: 308.4

About Week 4, James states: “This past week was probably not healthy. It was an exceptionally high-stress week, and that might’ve helped with my weight loss, but I don’t particularly feel well. With my weight loss for the month, MyFitnessPal had me re-adjust my goals and calorie intake. My new goal is to eat 1950 calories per day, down from 2080.”

Starting Weight: 396.4 | Last Week: 383.0 | Current Weight: 380.6

About Week 3, Tom states: “Still on pace, but just barely… Going out to eat is the biggest pitfall I’ve had so far. A majority of restaurants don’t have nutritional information available to the public, and that can make keeping your calories in-check difficult if you eat away from home. I think if people realized how many calories they consume when they go out to sit down restaurants they would be shocked! I’m hoping to cross the 20 pounds lost barrier this week, and to make sure it happens, I am going to increase my exercise time to 45 minutes a day! Still motivated, and its nice to see the number continuing to go down.”

So far, we’re tracking a 20 pound loss by James, and a 17 pound loss by Tom.

Stay tuned!

And now… ANTHRAX’s video for “Only.” No good reason why, other than it’s a great tune…
