When I was a kid, one of my cousins had a Plymouth Superbird… or at least I thought it was a Plymouth Superbird, and it may have actually been. Or, it could’ve been the similarly-styled 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona, which had a special nosecone and an additional wing placed on the back. Either way, if that car is still floating around the collector’s market today, it’s worth a ton of cash. For new generations, the folks at Toy State have captured the ’69 Daytona as a radio-controlled car as part of their Road Rippers Motor Muscle R/C line. As part of my gig as a Toy State Test Driver, one of these rides was sent to us for review in The Rock Father’s State-of-the-Art Toy Testing Facility (our house and neighborhood). Simply put: Both Daddy and Addie love it.
I’ve owned a number of R/C cars over the years, dating back to a Ferrari Testarossa that I got from a SEARS catalog back in the mid-1980s. Generally, I’m not a fan of cars that don’t run on rechargeable battery packs, simply because the quick drain of batteries means frequent replacement, which is both costly, and wasteful. While the Motor Muscle R/C takes a few AAA’s in the controller and four AA’s in the car, so far it’s lasting REALLY well, and that’s impressive. With scale speeds of up to 130mph, this Dodge Charger Daytona has some “zip” on the asphalt out in front of Rock Father HQ.

Easy-to-operate with full-function radio control (that borrows it’s design from the style and era of the car), the Motor Muscle R/C is durable, speedy, and fun. It’s Rock Father-Approved, and a great addition to any toy car collection. Recommended for ages 7+, there’s no reason why slightly younger kids (and older ones, too!) shouldn’t have a ton of fun rocking this ride on your street.
