2017 Pokémon Championships are Coming… Who Will Catch ‘Em All?

The battle to “catch ’em all!” is getting hardcore. The inaugural 2017 Pokémon North American International Championships will take place June 30–July 2 at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis, followed by the 2017 Pokémon World Championships in Anaheim, California in August. It’s the ultimate challenge for players of both the Pokémon Trading Card Game and video game series. Check out the details below…

From the Official Announcement: 2017 Pokémon North American International Championships – There are no residency restrictions for the North American International Championships—the event is open to all Pokémon TCG and video game players from around the world. In addition to the exciting prizes for Pokémon International Championships, this is the last chance to earn significant Championship Points on the way to a World Championships invitation.

Then, on August 18–20, the top players from around the globe will converge on the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California, to battle at the 2017 Pokémon World Championships. Only the Pokémon TCG and video game Trainers who battled at Championship Series events throughout the season and managed to earn enough Championship Points will qualify for this prestigious competition. Competitors will be battling for the title of World Champion and a share of over $500,000 in prizes!

Pokkén Tournament players will also have the chance to show off their skills at the Pokémon World Championships. On Friday, participants in the Last Chance Qualifier tournament will battle for the remaining seats in Pokkén Tournament World Championships. Then, the 2017 Pokkén Tournament World Championships will take place on Saturday, August 19, finishing with the grand finals on Saturday night, where the prize pool will be $20,000. Players will be competing using the Wii U version of Pokkén Tournament.
