One of the most exciting events in motorsports is back, and Machine Gun Kelly aka MGK is bringing the jams this year.
NASCAR revealed plans for MGK to give “a show-stopping race break performance” during the 2024 Busch Light Clash at the Coliseum on Sunday, Feb. 4.
“Machine Gun Kelly is the true embodiment of what it means to be a modern-day rock star,” says Ben Kennedy, NASCAR’s Senior Vice President, Racing Development and Strategy.
MGK’s performance will take place at the Los Angeles Coliseum where the racing season will begin on a temporary, quarter-mile asphalt track beginning at 1:30 p.m. PT with the NASCAR Mexico Series’ King Taco La Batalla en El Coliseo followed by the NASCAR Cup Series’ Busch Light Clash at 5 p.m.
Beyond his music, MGK will showcase his UN/DN LAQR cruelty-free, vegan nail polish line and his Cleveland-based 27 Club Coffee lounge with pop-ups at the NASCAR Fan Fest.
Additionally, stand-up comedian, actor, and producer Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias will serve as the Grand Marshal for the NASCAR Mexico Seres’ inaugural King Taco La Batalla en El Coliseo. According to NASCAR, his command will follow the performance of the Mexican national anthem by Mariachi Rams, the first Mariachi band of an NFL team — the Los Angeles Rams.
“Who better to kickstart this historic event than an amazing comic like Gabriel Iglesias,” Kennedy says. “With his illustrious TV and stand-up catalog combined with his Southern California upbringing and Mexican heritage, we couldn’t be more excited to have Gabriel give the command to start engines to begin a day of racing at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.”
Tickets to the event are on sale now.
Fans who can’t make it to the Coliseum can catch the action home as NASCAR on FOX will broadcast the Busch Light Clash while the NASCAR Mexico Series Race will be on FS1, Fox Deportes, Fox Sports 3 in Mexico, and available pan regionally on Claro Sports and the D Motors channel on DirecTV.
