Here we are with W.M.D., the Canadian thrashers hailing from Vancouver, British Columbia. After an almost eight-year absence, the group returns with Against All Warnings, self-released and ready to wreck shop.

“Kleptomania” is 100% thrash by the numbers, and I am here for it. Not only is it my favorite track on the record, but it’s also a masterclass in wrecking necks. The same can most assuredly be said for the title track, “Against All Warnings.”

“Post Human Predator” brings some old-school influence in the vein of early EXODUS, so that’s a job well done. “Eyes of a Killer” is a fine opener and states plainly that these guys ain’t screwing around. The same goes for “The Black Expanse,” another surefire winner.

Elsewhere, “The Thin Red Line” and “Already Dead” mop the floor with your brains, while closer “Painful Vengeance” kicks you in the musical nuts one more time for good measure.

2026 has been quite a year for thrash and death metal. And with Against All Warnings, the boys in W.M.D. have given us one more disc worth raging over. Buy it. You won’t be sorry.
