Avengers: Infinity War is the biggest superhero spectacle of all-time (see my review), and along with the film comes one of the coolest collections of Marvel merch in recent memory. At the recent #InfinityWarEvent in Los Angeles coinciding with the World Premiere of Marvel Studios‘ 19th film, I had a chance to take a look at the full line inside a private showroom at Disney Consumer Products & Interactive. But what fun is just looking? Thanks to my partners at Disney, Entertainment Earth, Hasbro and others, The Rock Daughters™ and I have amassed quite a collection. After all, even Thanos is a bit of a collector himself, tough he’s more into Infinity Stones than I. Here’s a look at some of the coolest items out there!
Pictured at the top of this article are two of the premiere items when it comes to Hasbro’s Marvel Legends line – the Thanos Build-A-Figure, and the Marvel Legends Series Infinity Gauntlet Articulated Fist. Thanos is relatively easy to get, but you have to purchase six other figures in order to build him. The Gauntlet, however is the best-selling Marvel Legends adult roleplay item ever created. It’s been so hard to come by, Hasbro has been rushing to get more here, and Entertainment Earth is taking pre-orders for the June shipment.
AVENGERS INFINITY WAR Assembler Gear by Hasbro manages to bring the excitement of Infinity War into the Nerf realm – but with some added opportunity for creativity and imaginative play. Kids can take weapons inspired by their favorite heroes, and then mix and match them into their own colorful creations for some safe, original blaster fun!
Hasbro 6” Action Figure Collection and Titan Hero FX figures bring the battle into the action figure aisle. The Titan Heroes are essentially 12″ figures that have a special Power FX Port on their backs. While most of the figures are priced right around the $10 mark, the ones that come with the Power FX pack are in the $20 range. What’s cool here is that the backpacks work with all Power FX figures, giving each character sounds and speech. At our house we use the 12″ Titan Hero Thanos to really pose a threat to our 6″ Avengers!
The 6″ figures are just classic, and here they’re paired with individual Infinity Stones that are compatible with Hasbro’s new Hero Vision Iron Man Augmented Reality Mask. It takes the play into many dimensions. Wave one is out now with characters like Star-Lord, Rocket Raccoon & Groot, Captain America, Thor, Black Widow and Iron Man. A second wave (which I’ll show in a future article) includes Doctor Strange, Scarlet Witch and more.
On the small collectible front, there’s Funko Mystery Minis, Pocket Pop! Keychains and the super-adorable Funko Heroes Pluishies – Thanos and the Hulkbuster! On the home goods front there’s Avengers: Infinity War Water Bottles and Avengers PopSockets!
My oldest daughter is loving her Reflective Bomber Jacket from ShopDisney, and I’m quite enjoying my Infinity Gauntlet coffee mug (currently sold-out at Disney Store). Of course, you should have a sweet Reusable Tote Bag to haul of this new gear.
While Entertainment Earth has hundreds of Avengers items in-stock, it’s some of their exclusives that are worth noting. Their Pin Mates are something we’ve been collecting here for awhile. These affordable figures recall classic “Little People” of the 60’s and 70’s, with dozens of characters across multiple fandoms available. Newer offerings include Black Panther, Doctor Strange and the Captain America: Civil War 2-Pack featuring Captain America and Iron Man.
Of course, if wooden collectibles are your thing, there’s Tiki Tiki Totems and the Groot 4-Inch Wooden Push Puppet with Silver Pot! And really, what office would be complete without a Spider-Man Chair Cape?
Look for all of these and more right now, and keep your browser pointed at THE ROCK FATHER™ Magazine for more Avengers: Infinity War toy features very soon!
