The Walt Disney Signature Collection has been bringing movie fans all-new editions of some of the biggest classics from Walt Disney Animation Studios. Launching with Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Beauty and the Beast and Pinocchio have also received the Signature treatment, and the latest to appear is the 1942 classic, Bambi. We have a strange relationship with that film here in our house… quite simply, my wife won’t watch it. Still, that didn’t stop us from making that our second film in our latest run of Disney Movies Under the Stars in our backyard theater here at Rock Father HQ with the Bambi Anniversary Edition.

The story of the little deer coming of age has endured, and today, BAMBI is universally regarded as one of Walt Disney’s most charming films.
Despite some heavy themes (a tradition that Disney continues a la Big Hero 6, Inside Out, etc), the kids don’t seem to mind, and Bambi has once again touched a new generation.

A Backyard Home Theater Overview:
To build your own backyard theater, you really only need these five simple items: 1 – An LED projector; 2- something to project from (iPad/Tablet/Laptop/Blu-ray Player/etc; 3 – Speaker/Speakers; 4- proper cables to connect all the devices; 5- something to project onto – Screen/Wall/Fence/etc.
Our set-up here at Rock Father HQ includes an Ion Audio Tailgater – a one-piece portable speaker/P.A. system; an Axxa PICO P300 Micro Projector; an Amazon Essentials Digital AV Adapter for my iPad; and an Amazon Basics 3′ HDMI Cable. I purchased the Camp Chef Outdoor Entertainment Gear 92″ Portable Outdoor Screen from Amazon to complete our set-up, but many screens are available.
